Morels, MOM-osas, and Mother's Day, OH MY!

Moms LOVE Good Real Food!

Everyone knows Moms ♥ Good Real Food, so treat MOM right this Mother's Day — Sunday, May 8th — with Brunch, Lunch, or Dinner at the cafe. We're serving Strawberry Rhubarb MOM-osas all day! You'll find the first signs of Spring starring on our menus, too, as morel mushrooms, lilac, asparagus, dill, and fiddlehead ferns make their first local appearances!

Sunday, May 8th (like every Sunday) is also Burgers & Beer night: Choose two burgers & any 2 pints of local, craft beer on tap for only $30! Of course, with Savory Waffles served all day, a bakery case brimming with sweet treats, and bottomless mugs of Peace Coffee — you’re sure to make Mom’s day at the Birchwood Cafe!

Mom's Day Deal Looking for the perfect present for Mom's Day? We’ve got a Mother’s Day deal she’ll love: A SIGNED COPY — by both Chef Marshall Paulsen and cafe owner Tracy Singleton — of our Birchwood Cafe Cookbook AND a signature embroidered Good Real Food apron, for only $50 (that’s an $18 savings!). This combo deal is available at the cafe or online. AND while supplies last this Mother's Day, all kids at the cafe get a packet of Birchwood seeds saved from last season's backyard garden!

Speaking of seeds, we're getting our Plant Sales on BOTH Saturday & Sunday, May 7 and 8, and the following weekend, May 14 and 15, in partnership with Riverbend Farm (Delano, MN). Riverbend's Farmer Greg will be here, along with Birchwood backyard farmer (and cookbook photographer!) Mette Nielsen! You'll find them in the parking lot across the street from the cafe with ready-to-plant organic starter seedlings for your own garden. Heirloom and locally adapted varieties of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, lettuces, kale, cabbage, onions, broccoli, herbs, flowers, perennials and more will be for sale — complete with handy tips and know-how that will have you harvesting your very own organic vegetables this summer. Plus, a portion of plant sales will be donated to our current Birchwood Boost partner Right to Know MN!
