Every day is Earth Day at the Birchwood Cafe, especially next Thursday, April 21st when YOU'RE INVITED to #BeTheChange with us at an Earth Day BOOSTer Club Fundraising Dinner in our Community Room! Join us for an inspiring (and delicious!) five-course pollinator-friendly meal including wine & cider pairings. MN Representative Karen Clark, Pollinate MN's Erin Rupp, and Hidden Stream farmer Eric Klein will share their perspectives on how GMOs impact people, pollinators & our planet.
Tickets are $50 and proceeds go to advancing our current Birchwood Boost partner Right to Know Minnesota's mission to secure GMO labeling in Minnesota while protecting our right to know at the national level. Preview the menu and purchase tickets here!
Thankfully, the Dark Act was stalled in the Senate (for now!) due in large part to Right To Know's work (along with like-minded consumer and environmental organizations) and constituent pressure! Many big many big food companies (Campbell's, General Mills, Con Agra, Mars) have also come forth committing to labeling their foods which are produced with genetic engineering. Let’s keep on exercising our democratic rights for a better world and secure the mandatory labeling of GMOs!
If you can't make it to our Earth Day Dinner, join us for another Right to Know MN Birchwood Boost event this month: Meet Right to Know at the front of the cafe, or see a free screening of Open Sesame: The Story of Seeds THIS Thursday, April 14, followed by CNN’s Democratic Presidential Debate LIVE from Brooklyn, New York. Both the movie and debate watch parties are free, but we ask that you please reserve your seat here.
Join us for an evening of food & politics! Our Boost Movie Night starts at 6pm, followed by conversation with current Boost partner Right to Know Minnesota about GMO labeling efforts at both the state and national levels. At 8pm sharp, we’ll have CNN’s Democratic Presidential Debate LIVE on the big screen! Enjoy food specials from 6-9pm and drink specials from 6-10pm. All are welcome, but seating is limited, so be sure to register your seat — either for the Boost Movie, the Debate, or both! — at www.birchwood.eventbrite.com
